Foster

Because we are an entirely foster-based rescue, we rely on the generosity of animal lovers throughout upstate New York to temporarily house and care for cats and dogs while we work to find their forever home.
This allows us to get strays off the streets and owner surrenders out of less-than-ideal living situations, while reducing the number of animals brought into already-overwhelmed local shelters.
Consider joining us as a cat foster, kitten foster, dog foster, or puppy foster.

We offer a starter kit of non-consumable supplies (litter boxes, toys, etc.) based on the current volume of our donations. Fosters are responsible for providing continued food and litter, but if you cannot provide this we will support where possible with additional rescue donations.
We will facilitate and fund any necessary vet care, but it is appreciated if you are able to transport the foster animal(s) to any appointments. If you can't, other volunteers can assist with transportation.
We also have a community of fosters and board members that keep in touch via Discord, so you'll have backup on your foster journey to asnwer any questions or concerns.
While it is helpful to allow potential adopters to visit your home for meet-and-greets (scheduled with our adoption coordinator) it is not required if you aren't comfortable doing so.
As a foster, you are welcome to share info with anyone you know that may be interested in adopting. We also accept foster-to-adopt AKA "foster fail" scenarios.
